OpenASIN ("OpenASIN," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Anna Bauman, doing business as OpenASIN, based in Pennsylvania, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use openasin.com and our related services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account information you provide directly: your email address when you sign up. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive the email address and basic profile information that provider shares with us.

Payment information: when you purchase a single report or subscribe to our Pro plan, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or banking details on our servers. Stripe provides us with limited information such as the last four digits of your card, billing email, and transaction status.

Usage information: the Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) you submit for analysis, the reports we generate for you, timestamps of activity, and basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and device type.

Communications: if you email us or reply to one of our emails, we retain those messages so we can respond and improve our service.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to provide the Service to you (generating competitive intelligence reports based on the ASINs you submit), process payments and manage your account, send service-related emails such as report delivery, billing confirmations, and account notifications, respond to your support questions, prevent abuse and protect the Service from fraudulent or harmful activity, and improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share the specific ASINs you research or the reports we generate for you with other users or third parties for marketing purposes.

3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES WE USE

To operate the Service, we use the following third-party providers, each of which has its own privacy practices:

Stripe (payment processing) Apify (Amazon public review data collection) Anthropic (AI analysis of review data) Resend (transactional email delivery) Supabase (database and authentication) Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, and security)

When you use the Service, relevant information is shared with these providers as necessary for them to perform their functions. We choose providers that maintain industry-standard security practices.

4. DATA RETENTION

We retain your account information and generated reports for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes (typically 7 years for payment records under U.S. tax law).

5. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

You can access the personal information we hold about you by logging into your account or contacting us.

You can request that we correct inaccurate information.

You can request that we delete your account and associated personal information.

You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the link at the bottom of those emails. Note that transactional emails (such as report delivery and billing receipts) cannot be unsubscribed from while your account is active.

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable law including GDPR and CCPA. We will honor any such rights to the extent required by law.

6. COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your session. We also use analytics tools, including the Meta Pixel from Facebook, to understand how visitors interact with our website and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These tools may set cookies on your device. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not function correctly if you do.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at reports@openasin.com and we will delete it.

8. SECURITY

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and protected database access. However, no method of online transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. INTERNATIONAL USERS

OpenASIN is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your home country.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated to active users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
